Bhopal Fire: Vallabh Bhavan State Secretariat Building Catches Fire; Containment Attempts Underway

A massive fire broke out in the Vallabh Bhavan State Secretariat building in the capital city of Madhya Pradesh, Bhopal. The fire is ablaze on the third floor of the building and the authorities are currently trying their best to contain the fire. Many videos of the incident have surfaced on the Internet which show dark and thick smoke billowing from the building. Attempts at assessing the damages are also underway. Here are all of the other important details that you would need to know about this unfortunate incident.

According to an article which was recently published by livemint, the fire was spotted by the cleaning staff or sanitation workers at around 9:30 AM. The sanitation workers saw smoke emanating from the third floor of the building and they promptly alerted the concerned authorities.

So far, no injuries have been reported owing to the incident. The authorities are attempting to contain the damage. If reports are to go by, the firefighters were successful in the containment of the blaze. However, the smoke still continues to erupt from the building.

As per a fire officer cited in the livemint article, Rameshwar Neel, the smoke is emanating from the places where documents are stored.

Smoke Still Billowing From Building As Authorities Try To Contain It

The sanitation workers who first spotted the blaze were near gates 5 and 6. Other details of the incident and how the fire actually started are not known yet but the officials are trying their best to make sure that such a situation does not happen again.

Videos of the incident have surfaced on the Internet. It is fortunate that owing to the prompt action of the sanitation workers, the authorities and the fire department, the blaze did not get out of hand.
