Every time we visit a railway station, we tend to hope that the food and hygiene practices are exemplary. Recently, Bhopal railway station received a 4-star “Eat Right Station” certification from the Food Safety and Standard Association of India(FSSAI). This certification was provided to the station because the station provides high-quality and nutritious food. The Ministry of Railways announced this news in a press release.
Bhopal Railway Station Receives Certification
Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) panels are a third-party audit agency that rates food storage and hygiene practices at railway stations. The agency rates them on a scale of 1–5. The ratings then result in the railway stations being awarded certifications based on them. The Ministry informed that the 4-star rating shows full compliance by the station to ensure safe and hygienic food.
FSSAI launched a movement called “Eat Right India” in 2018. It is a large-scale effort to transform the food system of the country and ensure healthy, safe, and sustainable food for Indians. The Ministry of Railways also announced this news on their official Twitter handle.
