If you want to go further, like Thimphu or Paro, you’ll need extra permits. Also, you can easily drive your Indian vehicle into Bhutan, but only within a limited area that is near the border. As per India Today, if you take your vehicle beyond the Rinchending Check Post, you’ll have to pay a green tax of around ₹4,500 per day.

A short drive takes you into the lush Dooars, where Jaldapara National Park and Buxa Tiger Reserve are perfect for wildlife lovers. Want something calmer?
