Almost everyone who orders food online understands the frustration one feels when one of the orders is wrong or botched. But imagine this person’s frustration when he ordered a salad from the popular food delivery platform, Swiggy, and found that it had a live snail in it! This is not the first time that an insect or a bug has been found in the food ordered online. As a matter of fact, such cases are increasing!

In a slightly nauseating turn of events, a man ended up finding a live snail in the salad he ordered from Swiggy. Dhaval Singh, who is a resident of Bengaluru, took to X (formerly known as Twitter) and shared what happened. He said that he recently placed an order with Leon Grill for a Salad via Swiggy. When the food arrived, however, he found a snail in it!
Hi Dhaval. That is terrible. Please help us with the order ID, so we can look into it.

He even shared a video along with the post which showed a snail crawling on a piece of lettuce. The food delivery company responded to the post with contrition and asked for the details of his order. In the follow-up posts, Dhaval also mentioned that he wasn’t even given a full refund of the order when he spoke to the customer service of the company.
Customer care is not even offering full refund lol. Forget ensuring anything else… Even the drink was incorrect btw

Such situations, it seems are increasing these days. The post was made at 1:25 AM on December 16. Since then, it has managed to garner more than 1,500 views. Needless to say, he was angry at the situation and went as far as saying that he would never order from the restaurant ever again.

Many people who saw the video were equally disgusted by this incident. They took to the comment section to express their anger as well as disgust. One person said that the restaurant that he ordered from has been lagging in quality for quite some time. Many others stated that the situation was very upsetting and that it shouldn’t have happened.
Always order from MC Donald and KFC… Don’t trust these local chains restaurant… Hygiene means nothing to them…

Damnnn, Leon’s grill’s quality is consistently going bad. Last 3 times I ordered, the chicken tasted like shit. Never ordering from them again!

Some people joked and said that he just received a complimentary topping from the restaurant. One person stated that Swiggy’s service has also been declining and shared an instance where the person’s order got stolen by the delivery partner. One person even went as far as advising against ordering from local chain restaurants. They said that local chain restaurants were not as hygienic as international ones and hence, should be avoided.
That’s outrageous! Now a days Swiggy has become ignorant. Few days ago there delivery executive stole my order & there customer support confirmed the same. They took almost 20 days to refund that too I had to enquire everyday. Ugh! It was irritating
