You remember when you had to physically fill out forms and stand in line to become a member of a swimming pool operated by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation? Well not anymore. The struggle to jump into a pool has now ended. You can now get membership to use the BMC owned swimming pools, online. The online service in its very first phase will be applicable to four swimming pools in Mumbai.
Online Membership For BMC Swimming Pools
In the earlier times, people had to actually stand in a queue and fill out forms to become a BMC owned swimming pool member. People had to wait in line beginning at 4am, and membership was only given based on first-come, first-served. After that, they would have to line up once more to submit paperwork. However, the BMC has streamlined this procedure and begun permitting online reservations. Four swimming pools namely the Mahatma Gandhi Olympic Pool in Dadar, the General Arun Kumar Vaidya Olympic Pool in Chembur, the Sardar Vallabhai Patel Olympic Pool in Kandivali, and the Shri Mrubali Devi Pool in Dahisar, will be covered by the online service in the first phase.

Annual Fees Of Online Membership For BMC Swimming Pools
Each member is limited to one hour of swimming. The first three swimming pools namely the Mahatma Gandhi Olympic Pool in Dadar, the General Arun Kumar Vaidya Olympic Pool in Chembur, the Sardar Vallabhai Patel Olympic Pool in Kandivali are Olympic sized pools. The annual membership of these pools will be ₹10,100. The annual membership for Shri Mrubali Devi Pool in Dahisar, is ₹8,000. The annual membership fee for seniors, students, and those with disabilities will be ₹5,300. Face recognition will be used for admission and exit, and if a member swims for longer than an hour, the additional hours will be subtracted from the length of their membership.
