Mother-Son Reunited 17 Years Later Thanks To Lawyer’s FB Post
Thanks to the intervention of an activist and advocate in New Delhi, a Kerala youth was reunited with his mother. The boy went to the UK in search of a job 17 years ago but remained untraced ever since, reported The Indian Express.
On July 10, at the international terminal, advocate Deepa Joseph witnessed him quarrelling with the staff of a cafeteria. He was allegedly caught stealing food that was on display. Taking plight on his situation, Deepa paid on his behalf.
Deepa stated how after discovering that he had arrived in India on an emergency passport, she asked for his details. However, he couldn’t provide clear answers regarding his family in Kerala. He also appeared visibly distressed.
As per the report, all he possessed were two dollars and an old mobile phone without a SIM card. Due to her pre-scheduled commitments, she couldn’t stay to assist him. But, the story only gets better from here.

Determined to assist the boy, she took to her Facebook page and posted his photographs, hoping someone would recognize him. That very evening, an individual shared the contact number of a police officer in his address jurisdiction.
She reached out to the police and was informed that the boy’s mother had already arrived at the station. His mother confirmed that the person in the photo was her son, who had left for the UK, 17 years ago and lost touch with his family.
“Abhi picture baaki hai, mere dost”. Deepa’s next move involved locating and bringing the mother to meet her son. She embarked on a search in Delhi. By July 16, the mother had arrived in Delhi, and the long-awaited reunion took place.

The man’s mother expressed, “He left for the UK 17 years ago without informing me about the job. He rarely called. I believed I had lost him forever,” as reported by The Indian Express.
