It was around 8 am near Chanderkoot when five buses, part of a convoy carrying devotees from Bhagwati Nagar in Jammu to the Pahalgam base camp in Kashmir, were involved in a chain collision caused by brake failure in the last bus of the convoy. As per the Money Control reports, one of the buses collided with stationary buses at the Chanderkot Langer site. The unfortunate accident not only caused damage to the other four buses but also injured 36 people.

Fortunately, government officials were at the site when the accident happened and took the injured pilgrims to Ramban District Hospital. According to the medical team at the hospital, the injured pilgrims were given first aid without wasting any time and were discharged soon after. As per the Money Control reports, even senior police officers visited the hospital to make sure that the pilgrims were comfortable and were receiving proper medical attention.

Injured Were Quicly Treated And Yatra Continued

Even though the accident interrupted the journey, the spirit of the pilgrims was undeterred. After they received treatment, the injured pilgrims were transferred to other buses, and the convoy was back on the road. The damaged vehicles were also replaced so that all Amarnath pilgrims could continue their pilgrimage. As per the reports from Money Control, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Alyas Khan confirmed that everything at the site was handled smoothly.

While this accident caused fear and confusion, the good news is that everyone is safe and the yatra is moving forward without delay. This incident is a reminder of how unpredictable roads in the hilly regions can be. The Amarnath Yatra is a journey of devotion, and even though there was a bump in the road, the faith and determination of the pilgrims remain unshaken.
