New Year’s 2021 is almost here but this time the party might be a little different. With the pandemic in place, there’s always a list of rules you must follow to ensure safety. The Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management has approved a set of precautionary measures for New Year’s Eve celebrations.

Firstly, private family gatherings of up to 30 people is permitted. However, the number must not exceed 30. Violators will face hefty penalties. Hosts who violate the rules will face AED 50,000 fine while those attending the party will face AED 15,000. Violators will also face legal action. Inspections will be conducted to ensure compliance with precautionary measures.

Gatherings must observe social distancing guidelines and must comply with one person per four sq.m of venue space. All the above precautions are aimed at ensuring residents’ safety and health. Elderly people and those with chronic conditions should be advised not to attend these gatherings.
