What began as a lakeside getaway in Switzerland ended with assault, police complaints, and a flood of posts on Instagram. Nikita and Karan, an Indian-origin couple from Canada, allege that the manager of the Seehotel Schwert in Gersau, a property leased to a family of Chinese origin, assaulted them viciously.

According to India Today, the Indian-origin couple in Canada had checked in at the hotel on June 24. A small dispute over a fan being taken from their room, they say, set off a chain of hostility. When they asked why it had been removed, the hotel manager allegedly snapped back with threats and abuse. Attempts to smooth things over by translating their concerns into German, since he refused to speak English, only seemed to harden his stance.
The real ordeal, however, began the next morning. As the couple tried to explain the unpleasant exchange to another staffer while checking out, the same manager allegedly stormed in. What followed, in their account, was a brutal assault of fists, kicks, and finally a heavy metal object hurled at Nikita’s face.

The Harsh Abuse That Followed
The blow shattered more than just her holiday. She lost one tooth instantly, fractured a dozen others, and has since been in and out of dental procedures. The physical pain, she says, has been compounded by a sense of disorientation. “I don’t feel like myself anymore,” she told creator Ashish Rajput.
Instead of facing consequences, the manager reportedly filed a counter-complaint against Karan, something the couple fears could tilt the investigation against them. They claim Swiss authorities have not made it clear whether the accused has even been questioned, as stated by India Today.
On Instagram, the couple posted images of the injuries showing swollen lips, broken teeth and bloodied skin. The photos, paired with their account of what happened, have ignited outrage. Many see in their story a disturbing mix of racial prejudice, tourist vulnerability, and bureaucratic indifference.

For now, officials in Switzerland have not released any statement. The silence, combined with the counter-complaint, has left Nikita and Karan doubtful that justice will come quickly, if at all.
