At Khao Man Gai, the star of the show is, of course, Khao Man Gai! This simple dish is the heart and soul of Thai street food. Poached chicken cooked to perfection is served with aromatic rice cooked in a rich, aromatic broth and a spicy dipping sauce made with fermented soybeans, garlic, and chilli. It’s comfort food at its finest, offering the perfect balance of textures and flavours.

While the menu revolves around this classic dish, you can choose whether to have your chicken steamed, grilled, or deep-fried. To keep things interesting, there are a few tempting appetisers, such as deep-fried chicken wings, minced chicken-stuffed taro cakes, and grilled chicken satay, to kickstart your meal.

You can also pair your meal with Thai milk tea, Thai coffee, or a refreshing lemon iced tea. And don’t leave without trying the desserts! The shokupan with Thai tea custard and banana roti with coconut condensed milk make for the perfect sweet ending to this comforting meal.

As soon as you step into Khao Man Gai, you’ll feel as though you’ve entered a street-side eatery in Bangkok. Designed by SKID (Shweta Kaushik), the space captures the lively spirit of Thailand’s hole-in-the-wall joints. Imagine teal blue, yellow, orange, and purple subway tiles that give the restaurant a street-style vibe.

For Chef Seefah, Khao Man Gai is personal. “This has been my favourite dish since childhood,” she shares. “When I introduced it to Karan (Chef Karan Bane), it quickly became one of his as well. With KMG, we wanted to recreate the kind of comfort you find in Bangkok’s small eateries—simple, honest, and full of heart.”

From the cooking techniques to the dipping sauces, everything stays true to the original Thai experience. If you love discovering hidden gems and unique food experiences, this is the place to be. So, the next time you’re in Bandra and craving something hearty yet simple, head over to Khao Man Gai.
