Here’s Where You Can Celebrate Chinese New Year In Dubai

If you’re wondering where to celebrate Chinese New Year, Dubai has some big plans this year! Chinese New Year will be observed and celebrated on Tuesday 5th February 2019. From dragon dance to Chinese markets, fireworks and Burj Khalifa’s epic laser show, here’s where you must head to make your day memorable.

1. WOW JBR

Head to #WOWJBR to experience an evening of entertainment, art, music and activities FREE! From 3D mapping, to holograms, and a larger than life Rubik’s cube, JBR is decked with pretty little things that will make your Chinese New Year memorable. You can also witness the place getting painted in red as dragons and playful puppets engage with the crowd. Take a stroll along the Chinese-themed walkabout that offers glimpses of the culture or marvel at the ancient Chinese dramatic art of Bian Lian.

2. Head To The Atlantis

If you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, head to the Atlantis. Following this is a special firework show and a traditional lion dance at the Royal beach. 3. Laser Show At Burj Khalifa

There’s no end to marvelling at the world’s tallest tower and the Chinese New Year only makes it more special. Marking the special day, Burj puts on a colourful laser and light show. Shows start at 8 pm and can be viewed from Downtown District.

4. Riverland

Decked in red and gold, Riverland transports you to China in a jiffy! From family activities like Couplet Pasting to a tea ceremony and markets loaded with Chinese art and craft, this place gives you all things Chinese. Plus, there will be a Dragon on the River show in the evening with a display of light, along with fireworks.

5. Motiongate 

The Chinese New Year celebrations at Motiongate, Dubai Parks and Resorts will kick start with Master Po of Kung Fu Panda leading a parade. This will then be followed by traditional dragon dances, a flash mob, decorations, meet and greets with characters, and of course lip smacking Chinese delicacies.

6. LegoLand

If you are looking for child-friendly places to celebrate the new year, head to LegoLand. Kids can build a mosaic, get a glimpse of the Chinese lantern decorations, and savor an Asian inspired menu at restaurants like hoisin chicken wings and fortune-cookie milkshakes. Plus, they get a free fortune cookie with every meal too.
