We have exciting news for some college students out there. Brijmohan Agarwal, the Minister of Education & Parliamentary Affairs, has a grand surprise for all the college students in Chhattisgarh. The minister sought a major grant today for the Department of School Education, Tourism, and more. An amount of ₹6,000 will be paid to these students as a travel allowance very soon. Chhattisgarh College Students Will Soon Get Travel Allowance

The Parliamentary Affairs Minister sought a major grant of ₹8,879 crores 1 lakh and 49 thousand today, according to a report by IBC24 News. This grant is for the Department of School Education, Higher Education, Tourism, Culture, Religious Trust and Endowment for 2024-25. The total grant amount comprises different departments. Let’s take a look at the amount of money for each department:
- ₹49 crore 20 lakh is for trusts and endowments.
- The amount for the state legislature is ₹84 crore 51 lakh 18 thousand.
- The Culture department gets ₹90 crore 50 lakh 39 thousand.
- The tourism department gets ₹218 crore 04 lakh 40 thousand.
- ₹1,049 crore 8 lakh 90 thousand is dedicated to higher education.
- ₹7,387 crores 66 lakh 32 thousand is for the School Education Department.
Coming to the travel allowance for college students in Chhattisgarh, every college goer will get ₹6,000. The minister stated that the facility will begin soon. They will receive the travel allowance directly into their bank accounts by DBT. About 3 lakh college students in this state will get this travel allowance, once started.

Not just the travel allowance, there are more for these students pursuing degrees in colleges. According to the IBC24 News report, there will be several arrangements and plans for competitive examinations coaching for the students. The coaching will also be arranged for important examinations such as UPSC, PSC, and Assistant Professor Recruitment Examination. Brijmohan Aggarwal has also recently hiked the annual grant of different universities in Chhattisgarh.
