It was recently announced that UAE residents who visit Armenia from July 1 will get visa-free entry. Yes, as revealed by Khaleej Times in its report, the traveller’s residency visa must, however, be valid for at least six months from their date of entry. Here’s all you need to know about the visa-free entry that’s now enjoyed by UAE residents.

UAE Residents To Get Visa-Free Entry From July 1 To Armenia

This is a big development for UAE residents. As previously mentioned, the visa-free entry was only enjoyed by the UAE nationals, and they could travel visa-free to this beautiful landlocked country. However, previously, residents were only eligible for a visa-on-arrival, and from July 1, they can enter visa-free. With the change in visa policy, Armenia expects to enable travel for tourism, business, and leisure purposes without a visa.

This visa-free stay is for up to 90 days within any 180-day period. At this point, it’s worth mentioning that this applies to all the passport holders from the Gulf Cooperation Council. Moreover, it is applicable to individuals who hold a valid residency permit that has been issued by any of the six GCC nations.

As this scheme expands to the GCC nations, including countries like the UAE, Qatar, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Kuwait, it broadens its accessibility. In fact, the change comes as part of its initiative to expand visa visa-free policy to travellers. Especially those who hold residency permits issued by GCC nations, the United States, the European Union and the Schengen area.
