Come May 2025, You Can Travel To Dehradun In Just 2.5 Hrs From Delhi Via This New Highway

The much-anticipated Delhi-Dehradun highway is likely to be operational for public use by May next year! This highway will reduce the travel time between the two capitals to just 2.5 hours. This is almost half the time it takes to travel between the two cities right now. As of now, the construction of the elevated corridor of this highway in Delhi has begun in full swing. Elevated Corridor Construction Begins In Delhi; To Be Completed This Year

The construction of the 6.4 kilometres long elevated corridor of the Delhi-Dehradun highway has finally commenced. This corridor spans from Geeta Colony to Khazoori Khas. Currently, the work is going on at Pushta Road and Kailash Nagar areas in Delhi. This elevated corridor is a significant part of this highway.

As for now, the National Highways Authority of India is expecting to finish the overall construction of this corridor by December 2024. This elevated corridor is likely to be finished by mid-May in 2025. This will mean that the highway will be operational by May 2025. There have been delays in the construction of the highway and the elevated corridor in Delhi. The G20 Summit in September 2023 is one such instance.

Delhi-Dehradun Highway To Reduce Travel Time & Improve Connectivity

Once the Delhi-Dehradun Highway is fully operational, it will reduce the travel time between Delhi and Dehradun to just 2.5 hours! It takes about 5 hours to travel between the two cities right now. It will also reduce the distance between the two cities from 235 kilometres to 213 kilometres. Furthermore, this highway will have 12 lanes and will feature a 12-kilometre-long wildlife elevated corridor as well. This corridor will allow free movement of wildlife in the area.
