Ingredients
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1/2 tsp active dry yeast
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- Milk
- Melted butter
For the green dough:
- 2/3 cup + 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tbsp matcha
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup proofed yeast mixture
For blue dough:
- 2/3 cup + 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tbsp blue matcha
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup proofed yeast mixture
Here’s The Recipe To Bake These Unique Bagels
Method
- Grab a small bowl or a cup and prepare a mixture using warm water, honey, and active dry yeast.
- Next, prepare two separate doughs of green and blue colours.
- For blue dough, knead all-purpose flour with matcha, salt, and proofed yeast mixture.
- For green dough, follow the same process as the blue dough. Just make sure to replace green matcha with blue matcha.
- Knead all ingredients to make non-sticky textured colourful and soft doughs.
- Once done, cover them and keep them aside at a warm place for around 90 minutes.
- After the freshly prepared doughs have rested well, roll them out into rectangular shapes. Make sure to use extra flour while rolling them with a rolling pin.
- Next, layer green dough on the blue one slightly unevenly to get a globe-like appearance. Roll them just like you roll an egg roll.
- And then, roll the sausage-like dough into a small ball.
- Take a knife and cut the earth-like dough ball into 4 parts.
- Using your palms, shape 4 portions into spheres.
- Next, use your finger to make a small hole and gently expand to get a bagel-like structure. Make sure to not expand it too much.
- Once done, place all the bagels on parchment paper and let them rest for half an hour.
- Meanwhile, start boiling water and add a tablespoon of brown sugar to it.
- Place all bagels gently into water and boil them for 2 minutes; 1 minute for each side.
- Once done, place them on a baking tray, brush them with milk and melted butter, and put them inside a pre-heated oven.
- Bake these delights at 220°C for 25 minutes.
- Once baked well, let the earth bagels cool down.
Cut yummy earth bagels in half and serve with cream cheese. Hope you enjoy this interesting recipe.
