The reel takes the viewers on a virtual journey to an abandoned city in an undisclosed location that can be reached by crossing a restricted road. The road led to a location where there was not a single person all around, at least according to clips shown in this Instagram reel. The streets of this abandoned city were overgrown and the surroundings sparked spooky vibes. The creator shared that “something felt off about this place.”

While exploring this strange place, he entered a couple of buildings and noticed that all the furniture and different daily-use things were simply left behind. Also, calendars found while roaming around displayed the same date in 2001. Seems odd, right?

People left the city leaving their cars behind. Everything looked frozen in time. However, the city seemed quite clean, considering it was abandoned in 2001. We are curious to know what happened here.

There are many suggestions, guesses, and different perceptions regarding this reel. Instagrammers shared their perspectives in the comment section and people have contrasting viewpoints about it. The kind of surroundings displayed in this video raise a major question concerning how a place can be comparatively cleaner while being abandoned for a long time.

A Netizen commented that the reel has been shot in Italy. He added, “There are many abandoned villages there. Nothing happened, people just left.” Another comment read, “I am pretty sure I saw this one in another video and they had to leave quickly due to bad stability of place, there was danger of buildings falling down due to earthquake.” There are several mentions of earthquakes, avalanches, and floods and some people guess such natural disasters might be a probable reason for this city getting abandoned.

Here’s an interesting response: “This is potentially the village Roghudi Vecchio. The resident spoke an ancient Greek language. They were pushed there (up into the mountains) due to invaders. There is only one living survivor from this town. It became a ghost town due to dangerous landslides.”
