Previously, many matches were rescheduled to be played at overseas stadiums because of the pandemic and restrictions. No cricket fans are leaving this opportunity to see their favourite teams playing live in front of their eyes. They are booking tickets to travel to different IPL venues and enjoy the matches live.

We are all aware of the intense rise in ticket costs and hotel prices. This does not seem to create much of an impact on the fans as the demand is only increasing. According to a report by LiveMint, Thomas Cook India, an Indian travel agency just saw a major rise in demand by about 60 per cent to 70 per cent. And this appetite to travel more has been witnessed mostly in the cities hosting the IPL matches.

Along with being the host of this exceptional tournament, India is gearing up to host the most anticipated Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023. If the demand for tickets and hotels is exponentially increasing in this manner during the IPL, we can only imagine the intense appetite among cricket lovers during the upcoming world cup.
Many travel agencies and operators have already started getting questions about the world cup. Not just cricket fans from different cricketing countries, but many corporates are also interested in such matches.

Coming back to the dominance of IPL in the travel sector, Unit SOTC Travel shared how they also witness a rapid increase of 30 per cent to 40 per cent in comparison to the previous year.
The LiveMint report also states that Ixigo noticed a month-on-month rise in April month in various Indian cities. Some of these cities are Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Mohali, and Kolkata.
