2. Zayed International Airport In Abu Dhabi Is The Fastest-Growing Airport

Zayed International Airport has been regarded as the fastest-growing airport in the Middle East. Yes, it’s the fastest-growing airport in the Middle East by seat capacity, as there has been a 28.3% increase. Compared to the 1.09 million in May 2023, it has now increased to 1.4 million seats. As it happens, the scheduled seat capacity at the UAE airport reached 7.25 million in May 2024.

3. Al Jaddaf Rotana Suite Hotel Wins ‘Best Hotel Interior Arabia’

Al Jaddaf Rotana Suite Hotel was recognised under the Best Hotel Interior Arabia category at international property awards for interior design. The honour is given by the prestigious accolade recognises the hotel’s exceptional design. For those who aren’t aware, it has been inspired by the natural splendour of the Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary.

4. There’s A 3-Day Traffic Diversion On Emirates Road

Until Thursday, May 30, there is a temporary traffic diversion on Emirates Road. This is near the Al Budaiya interchange in Sharjah. Announced on Tuesday, this means that the service road will be closed for those who are coming from Sharjah and are heading to Dubai. Therefore, motorists have been urged to follow the directional sign and to the speed limit.

5. DFRE And talabat UAE Extend Partnership Into Multi-Year Agreement

Recently, it was revealed that the DFRE has signed a multi-year strategic agreement with talabat UAE. This is the region’s leading delivery platform and the agreement is for several city festivals lifestyle events, and shopping experiences as a part of Dubai’s annual retail calendar. This comes after the three-year partnership concluded on May 12.

6. Dubai RTA Completes Road Improvement Work In Streets A11 & A26 In Al Mizhar

As the Dubai RTA has completed the improvement project on streets A11 and A26 in Al Mizhar area, it has helped in widening the streets. Yes, from the previous two lanes, it has been increased to four in both directions and now covers a total area of 6.8 km. The expansion has also doubled the road capacity from 1200 to 2400 vehicles per hour, which has also reduced the congestion to half.

7. UAE Residents Feel Slight Tremors

As minor earthquakes hit the Oman Sea on Wednesday, UAE residents also felt slight tremors. The magnitude of the earthquake that struck near the coast of Ras Al Khaimah at 12:12 AM was 3.1. This was followed by another earthquake of 2.8 magnitude at 1:53 AM.

8. Free MMR Vaccine For Children in Abu Dhabi

Measles, mumps, and rubella are diseases that scare every parent. However, you can save your children for free, as children can get an additional dose of the MMR vaccine for free in Abu Dhabi. Yes, the Abu Dhabi Public Healthcare Centre has announced that all children who are age between one and five-year olds can receive this extra dose no matter what their past vaccination status or meal history happens to be. This free offer is running till June 17.
