GCC Updates

1. Saudi Arabia Braces For Hotter Than Normal August

Saudi Arabia is expected to experience temperatures that may be above average. These are expected across most parts of the Kingdom during August. The National Centre of Meteorology mentions how projections have shown temperatures may remain above the seasonal average. In fact, rainfall is also expected to be below normal in regions of Jazan and Al Baha.

2. Burj Khalifa Lights Up With Spiderman Ahead Of Dubai Screening

Spider-Man: Brand-New Day is one of the most-awaited movies in the Marvel cinema, and it releases for an exclusive Dawn fan screening at Dubai Mall on July 29th, hosted by Reel Cinemas. And ahead of the special screening, the movie took over Burj Khalifa with a promotional display. The world’s tallest building was lit up with footage of the web-slinging superhero displaying the film’s arrival in Dubai ahead of the regional release.

3. Dubai Increases Bike Delivery With Seven New Locations

Dubai Roads and Transport Authority has announced that it is expanding the e-bike delivery service to seven more areas. The new areas are as follows – Al Twar 1, Al Twar 2, Dubai Media City, Al Qusais 1, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard, Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT), and Dubai Marina. These areas join the previous four areas where the service was first introduced, which include Al Karama, Umm Hurair, Al Hamriya, and Al Mankhool.

4. Emirates Skywards Miles Now Extends To Europe Train

Emirates announced that flyers of flydubai and Emirates will now be able to extend their journeys with the help of Emirates Skywards Miles. The loyalty programme has launched a new rail booking platform. Yes, this will allow members access to over 12,000 rail destinations across Europe.

Called Skywards Rail, this new service allows members to redeem Skywards Miles for train journeys. These would be operated across more than 40 rail companies across 12 European countries. Members can book tickets through the dedicated Skywards Rail platform. They can pay entirely with Skywards Miles or combine with cash and Skywards Miles.

5. flydubai Resumes Direct Flights Between Dubai And Budapest This July

flydubai has announced that it will be resuming its direct flight from Dubai International Airport to Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport from July 31st. This service will be launched with three weekly flights, which will later be increased to daily flights from October 25th. The resumption comes in response to the growing travel demand during the winter and autumn seasons.
