Old Auto Driver Still Keeps Fresh Flowers For His Late Wife
The emotional story was shared on Instagram by content creator Asish Matthew, who came across the driver while waiting at a traffic signal in Indiranagar. In the viral video, the elderly man was seen carefully arranging flowers inside his auto before starting his day. Being curious about the gesture, Asish asked him about it. Pointing to a photograph placed above the steering wheel, the driver quietly replied, “That’s my wife.”
He shared that his wife passed away eight years ago, but her memory continues to be an inseparable part of his life. Although he is now living with his son, daughter-in-law and six grandchildren, he confessed that he still misses her deeply and has never been able to move on from the loss. The video also displays several photographs of his wife placed around the auto, making her existence a part of every journey he takes. The driver stated that offering fresh flowers to her each morning has become a favourite routine that helps him feel connected to her.
He also shared that his son has pushed him to retire, but he continues driving because meeting new people keeps him occupied. “If I stay at home, I think too much,” he said, explaining that work helps him cope with his feelings of grief.
