Software Engineer Shares List Of Employee Benefits In Sweden
Taking to his Instagram handle (roamwithashutosh), content creator and software developer Ashutosh Samal’s latest reel is all about the corporate perks offered by companies in Sweden. He shared a list of employee benefits common in the country, many of which left Indians surprised. Firstly, as per Samal, full-time employees in Sweden can get 30 days of paid vacation a year. Over and above this, a day prior to public holidays, employees need to work on a half-day in most offices.

New employees will be provided with a new laptop and the latest iPhone on their first day of joining as part of their welcome kit. The country’s offices take the relaxation and wellness of its employees very seriously. Most companies extend allowances for gym memberships, massages and other wellness services, amounting to anywhere between ₹30,000 to ₹40,000. If there is a provision for work from home, then companies help employees set up their makeshift work space by offering an allowance between ₹30,000 to ₹50,000.
For lunch, a generous monthly allowance of ₹10,000 is given to all its employees. Through his reel, Ashutosh Samal, stressed that the employee benefits in Sweden are plenty. Employees are also helped by employers to lease cars with corporate discounts. Parental leave for a whopping 480 days is covered with about 80% salary given. Moreover, if people lose their jobs, the union intervenes by providing financial support for six to nine months. During summer, since work is less, the working hours are also flexible.
