Cyclone Biparjoy has been storming over different parts of India for the past couple of days. Though the intensity of it has decreased to some extent gradually into a depression, it is still a reason for concern in several Indian states. On Saturday, the India Meteorological Department stated that the cyclone is likely to shift to the east-northeastwards direction and there are chances of massive rainfall in so many states of India. Here are all the details on the likely changes in weather conditions because of the storm.
In The Light Of Cyclone Biparjoy, These Indian States Are Likely To Experience Rainfall
The India Meteorological Department recently stated the chances of massive downpours in some states in the country. The department has issued a warning for heavy rainfall in some places and also raised an alert for moderate to scattered downpours with thunderstorms in some other places. According to the most recent data, these places are highly probable to experience humongous cloudburst:
- Kerala
- Kutch
- Madhya Pradesh
- North Gujarat
- Sikkim
- Some parts of West Bengal
- South Karnataka
- South Rajasthan
- Southeast Rajasthan
- Southwest Rajasthan
- Tamil Nadu

In the recent statement, IMD also added how North Gujarat and the Kutch region are likely to experience isolated heavy to very rainfall as well. In fact, South Rajasthan is also on the list of places to receive heavy to extremely heavy rainfall. Other places that have the risk of receiving isolated massive downpours are Northeast India such as Meghalaya, some parts of West Bengal, and Sikkim, according to a report by Zee News.
These States Are Likely To Experience Light To Moderate Rainfall
Many places in Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, Odisha, West Bengal, Northeast India, Himachal Pradesh, and Sikkim have chances to see light/moderate to widespread rainfall in the next couple of days. The scary news is that there are chances of lightning and thunderstorm in some places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand as well.

Different Places In South India To Experience Rainfall In The Next Few Days
According to the statement shared by IMD, the next 4 days have high chances of downpours and thunderstorms in many parts of South India.
- Kerala: 18 June to 21 June
- South interior Karnataka: 19 June to 21 June
- Tamil Nadu: 17 June to 19 June
