Operating under the central government’s UDAN or Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik scheme, this service will connect key destinations. These include Dehradun, Nainital, Bageshwar and Haldwani, effectively bridging the gap between the Kumaon and Garhwal regions. Here are all of the other important details that you would need to know about these new helicopter routes in Uttarakhand.
Uttarakhand Gets New Helicopter Routes Starting At ₹3500
The primary benefit of this service is the dramatic reduction in travel time across the mountainous terrain. For instance, the journey from Dehradun to Nainital, which typically requires 6-7 hours by road, will be completed in merely 50 minutes by helicopter.
This significant time-saving applies to all routes covered by the service. Operating with 7-seater helicopters, Heritage Aviation will provide two daily flights on each route. This will offer both locals and visitors a convenient alternative to the challenging road journeys through the hills.
The company already has an established presence in the region, running daily flights from Haldwani to Champawat, Pithoragarh and Munsiyari. Looking ahead, they plan to expand their network to include connections from Dehradun to Tehri, Srinagar and Gauchar.
You Can Travel From Dehradun To Nainital In Just 50 Minutes
The comprehensive flight schedule offers multiple daily connections across the region. The Dehradun-Nainital route operates with morning departures at 8:15 AM and afternoon flights at 2:25 PM. Return flights from Nainital at 9:10 AM and 3:20 PM.
All Dehradun-Nainital services are priced at ₹4500 (excluding GST). For travellers between Haldwani and Bageshwar, flights depart Haldwani at 8:30 AM and 2:45 PM, with return flights at 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM. These routes are priced at ₹3500.
The Dehradun-Bageshwar connection offers three daily flights, departing at 10:20 AM and 12:30 PM, with return services at 11:10 AM and 1:20 PM, all priced at ₹4000.
This new service is expected to significantly boost tourism by making remote destinations more accessible, supporting business travel across the state, and providing crucial air connectivity during emergencies.
