It’s time for the Indira Gandhi International Airport to add a golden feather to its cap! The Delhi airport just got recognition as the cleanest airport in the Asia Pacific region. The Airports Council International has adjourned the honour to the airport of the national capital. Not only the cleanest but this airport is also acknowledged as one of the best airports in the Asia Pacific region.

Well, the achievements for the year 2022 are surely great and grand. This is the 5th consecutive year for the Delhi airport to bag the award for one of the best airports in the Asia Pacific region. The Airports Council International awarded the airport with the “Best Airport” recognition for the category of more than 40 Million Passengers Per Annum. Before 2022, the Indira Gandhi International Airport was acknowledged as the best airport in the Asia Pacific region in the category of over 40 Million Passengers Per Annum back in 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021.
Delhi International Airport Ltd Shared The Process Of Selecting The Airports For The Awards
The joint venture Delhi International Airport Ltd shared that the results of these rankings are dependent on several surveys. Live research is conducted with the help of surveys in airports. Passengers travelling in that airport get to share their experiences, feedback, and reviews on these surveys. The awards are based on these customer experiences.

The Airports Authority of India shared names of other recognitions of several airports in a release. They stated that the Tiruchirappalli International Airport of Tiruchirappalli is recognised as the best airport in the Asia Pacific region. This award by the Airports Council International falls under the category of under 2 million passengers.
There were surveys with over 30 performance indicators at airports for determining the results of these awards.
The Airport Service Quality awards ceremony will be hosted in the Republic of Korea’s Incheon on 6 September 2023.
