Delhi Central Vista Metro Corridor: Who Will It Benefit, Route, Stations, Completion Date

Delhi Metro, one of India’s largest and most extensive metro networks, is set for a major expansion. On Wednesday, construction began on a new section of the Central Secretariat Metro station, as part of the Central Vista metro corridor. The corridor will connect R K Ashram Marg and Indraprastha, and is an extension of the Magenta Line. Here’s everything you need to know about the project.

Work Begins On Delhi’s Central Vista Metro Line

According to The Indian Express, construction work on the 9.9 km Central Vista corridor of the Delhi Metro is set to begin. Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal inaugurated the construction at the Central Secretariat Metro station for the extension of the line.

The upcoming corridor is expected to improve connectivity between West, North, Old, and Central Delhi. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) estimates that over 60,000 office-goers and around two lakh daily visitors could benefit from this project once it is completed.

DMRC also believes the corridor will ease daily commuting, improve accessibility, and help reduce traffic congestion, pollution, and fossil fuel use in the Capital.
