The Delhi government intends to open recreation centres for senior citizens. The government would pay the rent and expenses for other amenities at the centres, such as television, health screenings, and water dispenser machines, according to social welfare minister Raaj Kumar Anand.

A report by the Times Of India states that as soon as the SOP is ready, the RWAS will be able to submit applications for centres online. The recreation centre will make provisions for yoga and indoor games for the elderly’s health and well-being.

The goal is to create a place where the elderly can stay temporarily, socialise with other people their age, and engage in hobbies they like. Additionally, it was built with anti-skid floors, breakable doors with opaque glass, call bells outside beds and in bathrooms, railings, and ramps to make it more accessible for the elderly.
