Delhi May Set A World Record By Repairing 3,400 Potholes In Single Day; Details Inside

The Delhi government will attempt to fill 3,400 potholes across the Capital in just one day and try to set a world record. The initiative, led by the Public Works Department (PWD), hopes to enhance road safety and commuting conditions in the city.

In an attempt to make Delhi pothole-free and also set a world record, the Delhi government has announced plans to fill 3,400 potholes across the city in just one day! PWD To fill 3,400 Potholes Across Delhi

According to The Indian Express, PWD Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh has announced that they will fill 3,400 potholes in Delhi on June 24. Yes, they plan to fill in all the potholes in a single day and also attempt to create a world record while they are at it!

While addressing the media, the PWD minister mentioned that over the last four months, they have successfully completed pothole repair at several locations. The authorities have repaired around 150 km of roads, and another 100 km stretches have been identified. They have also set a target to repair 500 km of roads by next March. As for now, with the monsoon season almost here, the PWD officials are attempting this repair drive to establish a “transparent and accountable system.”

Making The Capital Hole-Free!

Talking about Tuesday’s drive to fill 3,400 potholes across Delhi, Parvesh Sahib Singh said that it would be a first-of-its-kind world record attempted by the Delhi government. He elaborated that they have already mapped all the 3,400 potholes that will be filled. Furthermore, he mentioned that he will personally visit and oversee the quality of work done at different locations.

Around 200 maintenance vans, with pre-mixed material, will go around Delhi to fill the potholes. More than 1,000 personnel, including 70 assistant engineers, 150 junior engineers, workers, and supervisors are being tasked for this drive. The officials have been asked to take ‘before’ and ‘after’ pictures of potholes and post them on the PWD website along with the location.
