NDMC Hosts Tulip Festival In Delhi

Organised by the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) in collaboration with the Embassy of the Netherlands, the Tulip Festival 2026 in Delhi is more than just a floral showcase. This ongoing festival celebrates the season change in the city as we slowly transition to spring. The festival was inaugurated on Monday, drawing visitors to Shanti Path in Chanakyapuri.

All flowers are beautiful, but there is something about tulips that makes them stand apart. They have that elegant shape with symmetrical, cup-shaped blooms and vibrant colours that can attract anyone. This ongoing festival in Delhi also features a Tulip Walk. Over 5 Lakh Tulips Planted Across Delhi

According to a report by Moneycontrol, the Tulip Festival in Delhi began as a small horticulture experiment. But now, it has grown into an annual event that attracts hundreds of people every year. Notably, NDMC first experimented with tulip planting in 2017-18 with just 17,000 bulbs. But now, for this event, 5,17,500 tulips were procured. This means that over five lakh tulips have been planted across New Delhi for the 2026 event.

According to News18, apart from Chanakyapuri, you can also see the tulips blooming at Central Park in Connaught Place, Lodhi Garden, Talkatora Garden, Sardar Patel Marg, Mandi House, Windsor Place, Sher Shah Suri Marg, and roundabouts near the Vice President’s House.

That’s not all. Around one lakh tulip bulbs have been planted in pots, and visitors to the festival can purchase them. For the festival, the authorities have also arranged themed installations and special lighting. The festival will be open to the public throughout February, and the entry is free.
