Multiple airlines have now cautioned passengers of possible delays as Delhi-NCR woke up to cloudy skies and a fresh spell of rain. As per a report by Hindustan Times, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for the city, warning of drizzle and thunderstorms across the national capital and nearby areas.
Following the weather alert, several airlines issued travel advisories for passengers. SpiceJet, through its official X handle, informed that “due to bad weather,” flights could be delayed, urging passengers to keep a close check on their flight status.

IndiGo also issued a travel advisory, asking passengers to consider alternative routes as several roads across the city were reported to be blocked. The airline assured that its teams are working to minimise disruptions.

Advisories From Air India And Akasa Air

Air India, in a post on X, stated that rainfall may impact schedules and requested passengers to allow extra time for their journey to the airport, warning that traffic could cause delays. Akasa Air also shared an update on X, noting that flights may be affected due to the heavy rain.
Delhi Airport also took to its official X handle and informed that inclement weather conditions are expected in the city. However, it clarified that flight operations at the airport are currently normal. The advisory further requested passengers to contact their respective airlines for the latest updates.
According to a report by HT, Sunday’s downpour left several areas in Delhi-NCR waterlogged. Rain was reported from Preet Vihar, Rajeev Chowk, ITO, Jafarpur, India Gate, Defence Colony, Lajpat Nagar, and Kalkaji. It caused slow-moving traffic and difficulty for commuters.

Authorities have urged travellers to take alternative routes, use public transport, and plan their journeys in advance. They are also advising residents to remain indoors and avoid low-lying or waterlogged areas.
