Incessant rains have lashed Delhi over the past few nights, affecting several flights. SpiceJet has issued a new travel advisory, along with other airlines and airport authorities. When residents thought the monsoon had finally ended in Delhi, the city woke up to heavy rains over the past two days. As per a report by NDTV, at least 15 flights were diverted at Delhi airport yesterday due to the downpour. The rain also led to severe traffic jams and waterlogging in several areas.
Today, October 8, SpiceJet issued a fresh travel advisory for its Delhi passengers on X. They informed travellers that departures and arrivals could be affected due to bad weather. Passengers are advised to check their flight status regularly and plan accordingly.

Yesterday, IndiGo also announced temporary disruptions to flight schedules on X. They warned of slow traffic and asked travellers to expect potential delays. Like SpiceJet, they urged passengers to keep an eye on their flight status. Air India issued a similar advisory yesterday on X, stating: “Rain may impact flight operations to and from Delhi.” Passengers were advised to allow extra time for travel. Delhi Airport also issued an advisory, urging passengers to use public transport, including the Delhi Metro, to reach the airport and avoid delays.
As per The Daily Jagran, the IMD had issued yellow and orange alerts for yesterday due to heavy rain. Today, it has forecast light to moderate rainfall accompanied by strong winds. Yesterday’s heavy rain not only waterlogged roads but also caused temperatures to drop significantly. Strong, cold winds indicate an early arrival of winter for Delhiites. Today, on Wednesday, Delhi is likely to experience a cloudy sky. The weather in the region is expected to remain clear from October 9 to October 14.
