How Does Devyani Jaipuria Start Her Day?
Giving a house tour of her luxurious Delhi farmhouse, Devyani showed her the lawn, the study, and the dining room of her house before turning to the temple room. As soon as both Devyani and Kmaiya went inside the temple room, Devyani said that before starting the day, they come to the temple every day. “Before we start our day, we do come to the temple,” she added. She further revealed her daily routine and said, “We light our diyas, say our prayers, and then we go forward and start our day.”
Talking about spirituality and devotion, Kamiya asked about the beautiful Shivling outside her house and asked if there was any particular story behind it. To which Devyani explained how her whole family are Shiva bhakts. “We are all Shiva devotees. And if you see, I have a tattoo here of Shiva as well.” She also spoke about how she believes in Lord Shiva and finds his presence everywhere. “I feel his presence everywhere. Once a month, I go to Ujjain, the Mahakal. It gives me a lot of peace and strength, and it keeps me grounded.”
Devyani Jaipuria’s Painting Collection
Devyani Jaipuria then showcased her painting collection and described each one of them. She started with the painting of Lord Vishnu and said, “You know, I wanted to place all my paintings of Bhagwan at the entrance, and if you see, this is Vishnuji. It’s a very, very old Tanjore work.” Next, she moved to another painting and explained, “If you come here, you will find Srinathji. This is Pichvai from Rajasthan. Jaipur is known for Pichvai work.” She also explained about another painting in her dining room, “This is from Tibet. It’s Tibetan art called Thangka art.” Lastly, she talked about a beautiful painting of Buddhas and said, “These are 108 Buddhas painted here to basically talk about meditation, peace and calm.”
