Delhi CM Rekha Gupta has announced a one-year Tourism and Heritage Fellowship Programme. It will be implemented by the Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation (DTTDC). Under the programme, 40 young professionals will be selected every year. They will work on preserving Delhi’s historical and cultural heritage. Each selected participant will receive a monthly stipend of ₹50,000, as per a report by NDTV. The announcement was made during the “DELIGHT for Delhi” Summit organised by the Delhi Tourism Department and Invest India. Delhi Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra was also present at the launch.
The initiative aims to build a trained group of young people who will directly support government-led tourism and heritage efforts. In her announcement on Monday, CM Rekha Gupta added that the fellowship reflects the government’s commitment under the vision of ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’.
However, applicants must meet certain criteria before applying. They must be below 35 years of age, hold a graduate degree, and have at least one year of work experience in tourism or a related field. Preference will be given to candidates with a postgraduate degree in tourism. Those with strong digital skills and fluency in both Hindi and English will also have an advantage.
