Delta Air Lines Passengers Stranded At Atlanta Airport For 4 Days; They Slept On Floors As No Accommodation Available

What, according to you, is the biggest inconvenience passengers face while travelling on flights? If you think flight delays and cancellations are the worst experiences ahead of air travel, you might be surprised to know about a family’s experience at the Atlanta airport. Delta Air Lines passengers were stranded at Atlanta airport not for long hours but for four days. Yes, you read that correctly. But why did they have to wait for so long, that too at an airport?

Delta Air Lines Passengers Helplessly Stranded At Atlanta Airport

Taking to the X platform, Multifamily Madness (@MultifamilyMad) shared his and his family’s miserable experience of flying with the airline.

According to the X post, passengers were surprisingly stranded at Atlanta airport for four days till July 22. While trapped inside the airport premises, they did not receive any assistance for car rentals and available flights. In fact, Delta Air Lines did not offer much help for hotels. The X user shared that he managed to book a hotel through a rewards program. The property is 25 minutes from the airport.

We can only imagine how every passenger stranded at the airport felt on these days. Not only did they have to forcefully stay there but also had to wait for hours just to be able to talk to someone and ask for help. “4-5 hours in line to even talk to a person”, shared Multifamily Madness.

While staying at the airport, they noticed cancellations of thousands of flights. Many flyers spent days and nights sleeping on the floor. Unfortunately, airlines and the airport lost many people’s bags.

Multifamily Madness further added that he and his family booked two flights for July 23. At around 9:19 PM on July 22, the passengers stood in queues to get into the TSA line for the security checkpoint.

One of the most shocking incidents reported was how Delta Air Lines announced over the loudspeaker looking for pilots who could fly flights and carry passengers to their destinations.

About The Final Update

Passengers were kept on standby for a 5 PM flight. They were alerted about the same during the midnight hours.

After waiting for days, they finally got to board a flight, sat on their seats, and departed the Atlanta airport. They were understandably happy and excited to fly back home.

The X user updated Netizens about reaching his home and stated that he would go after the airline “full press this week to get every dime owned to me once I get caught up with work.”

Inconveniences like these without proper help and assistance are not appreciated and accepted. These experiences worsen passengers’ journeys and make it difficult for them. Sitting inside our houses for straight 4 days feels like suffocating. Imagine the same at an airport among thousands of unknown people. We are glad to hear that flights finally took off and people began to reach their homes.
