According to an article which was recently published by The Times Of India or TOI, the recall was issued by the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration. They issued an announcement and warned their citizens against consuming these spicy noodles.

As per the Danish Veterinary, the capsaicin levels in these noodles are dangerously high and can cause acute poisoning. This would be especially worse for children and hence, they have mentioned that kids should steer clear of these noodles.

Capsaicin is the compound present in chillis which gives it their spiciness. It is usually present in food products for a little kick. However, consuming excessive amounts of capsaicin is known to cause irritation of the mouth, throat and intestines.

Although not exactly poisonous, consuming capsaicin in high amounts can certainly cause harm. More so if you’re suffering from ailments like ulcers which can worsen. Many claim that pure capsaicin might be poisonous, however, studies have not shown that to be the case.

While the noodles are absolutely delicious, one must remember that health comes first. The claims that the noodles are poisonous are likely a tad exaggerated, however, they are still very unhealthy. And not just because of the capsaicin.

Sodium present in these instant noodles is far more harmful. Hence, avoiding them is the prudent thing to do.
