The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike or the BBMP has announced the closure of the Devarabisanahalli-Sakra Road for 60 days. It stretches from Myntra Apartments to Bellandur Kodi and the closure is done for essential upgrades. To manage traffic flow during this period, the Bengaluru Traffic Police have outlined several alternative routes. Here are all of the other important details that you would need to know about the closure of this major connector in Bengaluru.
Devarabisanahalli-Sakra Road Closure: Alternate Routes
According to an article which was recently published by The Times of India or TOI, the road will get an improved surface which will enhance the overall experience of travelling. Following are the alternate routes that will help you navigate this road closure better.
For Outbound Travel:
- Motorists heading from Yamalur to Devarabisanahalli and Bellandur should utilise Old Airport Road via Yamalur Junction. Then, proceed across Marathahalli Bridge, and then take Kadubeesanahalli Bridge to access the Outer Ring Road.
- Those travelling from Yamalur to Kadubeesanahalli and Devarabisanahalli are advised to turn left at Yamalur Kodi. Then, continue along Old Airport Road past Yamalur Junction, and then use Kariyammana Agrahara Road.
- For Yamalur to Outer Ring Road journeys, drivers should turn right at Yamalur Kodi towards Bellandur Kodi and proceed through Yamalur Village.
For Inbound Travel:
- From Devarabisanahalli and Bellandur, motorists should turn left onto Outer Ring Road. Then, proceed to Kadubeesanahalli Bridge, cross Marathahalli Bridge, and continue through Yamalur Junction.
- Those travelling from Kadubeesanahalli or Devarabisanahalli should take Kariyammana Agrahara Road. Then, pass through Yamalur Village, and join Old Airport Road.
- For Outer Ring Road to city centre journeys, drivers should turn left at Bellandur Kodi and proceed via Yamalur Junction to Old Airport Road.
Bengaluru Traffic Police Requests Cooperation From Motorists
The Traffic Police have specifically requested motorists to avoid the Yamalur and Bellandur Lake areas due to expected congestion. DCP Traffic East Division, Kuldeep Kumar R. Jain, has emphasised the importance of public cooperation in following these diversions to maintain smooth traffic flow during the road improvement works.
