Watching celebrities play fun games and ace them flawlessly (almost all the time) during interviews has to be one of the most top-tier things to do. On this Sunday Brunch episode, our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, spoke to Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa about films, travel and more. The interview ended with a fun game of recognising songs from their English translations. It is safe to say that he knows his work the best!
We Translated Diljit Dosanjh’s Songs In English For A Game!
The last game we played with our guests was super duper fun where Kamiya read out Diljit’s song lyrics in English and they had to figure out which song it was. Both of them were ready to take on this challenge. The first one was, “If I touch you, you get angry. You are like fire fire. You are mine. That is my only wish.”
Upon hearing Kamiya say this, the singer was completely astonished! Then he began translating it in Punjabi and Neeru helped by reminding him that someone is angry in the lyrics described. And then it clicked and he sang the beautiful lines from his 2021 song, Lover. It was correct, so he blew the small party blower we gave him to celebrate.
After a few laughs, Kamiya read out the next English lyric, “There is a fire dancing with me. She is dancing and laughing in circles of flames. She asked my name…” Neeru suggested that it might be from their first Jatt & Juliet film but Diljit was clueless, hence, he asked Kamiya to repeat it slowly.
This time, he translated the lyrics as Kamiya recited lyric by lyric and was able to crack. It was another of his popular songs, Kinni Kinni!

This One Was Rather Easy!
We were having too much fun with this game and threw a simpler English-translated lyric at our guests. It was “How much I love you? Do you know? How much I care?” Both of them blurted out ‘Do You Know’ together! Diljit pointed out that this song was already in English so it was easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy for them.
