Direct Flight Operations From Dehradun To Ayodhya, Varanasi And Amritsar Start Today

Dehradun, one of the biggest cities in Uttarakhand, recently got flight connectivity to three other major cities in India. The Jolly Grant Airport, also known as Dehradun Airport, began flight operations today. These flights will make travelling to and from the city even more convenient. It will boost business as well as tourism within the city. Here are all of the important details that you would need to know about this.

Direct Flight Operations From Dehradun To Start From Today

According to an article which was recently published by the Hindustan Times or HT, flight operations were flagged off by the Chief Minister of the state, Pushkar Singh Dhami. The inauguration ceremony consisted of the cutting of a cake as well as the lighting of a lamp.

As per his statement cited in the HT article, the Uttarakhand government intends to make moving more convenient for people across the state. This move, therefore, can be seen as part of the larger attempt to make travelling in and to the state more convenient.

He even gave boarding passes to the passengers of the maiden flights from the city as part of the inauguration ceremony. The CM also wished the passengers a happy journey. This milestone is said to give new momentum to the tourism industry in the state.

To Connect Dehradun To Amritsar, Ayodhya And Varanasi

The flight operations flagged off today, connect the city of Dehradun to three major cities. It will link Amritsar in Punjab and Ayodhya and Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh to Dehradun.

Prior to this, Dehradun was connected to Pithoragarh by air. In addition to this, it had helicopter services to Munsiyari, Pithoragarh and Champawat from Haldwani.
