Indian Railways intends to start running the second Vande Bharat Express train from Dehradun to Lucknow for the state of Uttarakhand. Based on the urgent requirement, the decision was made following a meeting on Friday, November 4 in Delhi between Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.

This ultra-fast train would travel the 545 miles between Dehradun and Lucknow in less than nine hours. Previously, the Dehradun-Howrah Superfast Express and Dehradun-Gorakhpur Express were the fastest trains on the line, covering the same distance in 10:15 and 10:40 hours, respectively. There will be six days a week when the train is operational.

Eight coaches, including an AC chair car and an AC executive chair car, make up the new Vande Bharat Express. The train that runs between the capitals of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, Lucknow and Dehradun, would enhance communication between these two important towns. It will not only cut down on travel time, but it will also make luxurious travel with top-notch amenities possible. It will help the state capitals’ tourism industries. The opening of this train would make travel easier for the large population of Uttarakhand who reside in Lucknow, the state capital of Uttar Pradesh.

Launched in May of this year, the Dehradun-Anand Vihar Terminal Vande Bharat Express was the first of its kind. Anand Vihar Terminal, Roorkee, Saharanpur, Meerut, Haridwar, Dehradun, and other important cities are connected by the train.

The ‘Wow’ Moment For The Trains

Blue and the newly introduced Vande Bharat Express “Tangerine” passes at Kerala’s Vellayil Station. The Ministry Of Railways shared a post about the blue and tangerine Vande Bharat Express calling it ‘wow’! On September 24, the Indian Railway launched the inaugural Vande Bharat train, an orange-grey train that operated between Kasaragod and Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has made it clear that there is scientific reasoning behind the Vande Bharat trains’ orange colour scheme. Vaishnaw stressed that improving visibility for human eyes is the only factor driving this choice and that it is not politically motivated.

Further, he asserts that orange and yellow are the two hues that people can see the best. This is supported by the fact that about 80 per cent of trains in Europe are painted in shades of orange or a mix of yellow and orange. He made the point that although there are other bright colours, such as silver, orange and yellow are thought to be the greatest for human vision.

He highlighted comparisons between the employment of orange in life jackets and rescue boats used by the National Disaster Response Force, as well as in black boxes for ships and aeroplanes, to support his points.
