Exclusive: Possessiveness Alert! Ekta Kapoor Had These Rules For Dad Jeetendra While Growing Up

Jeetendra Kapoor might have had millions of fans swooning over him, but at home, he had one particularly demanding admirer who wanted him all to herself. During Sunday Brunch with Kamiya Jani, Ekta Kapoor and Tusshar Kapoor opened up about their family life, and Ekta’s childhood stories about her father, Jeetendra, came with a rather unexpected twist. Apparently, being the daughter of a superstar was not enough. Ekta wanted exclusive rights to her dad, and anyone who dared to steal his attention was entering dangerous territory. 

Papa Jeetendra Had To Follow Ekta Kapoor’s Rules

Ekta Kapoor did not mince her words while describing her possessive streak. She admitted that she has always been extremely possessive about the people she loves, adding that it can be a rather difficult trait for them to deal with. 

As a child, Ekta Kapoor apparently did not want Jeetendra clicking pictures with other people, signing autographs, or even talking to them. The restrictions extended to his own mother, too! According to Ekta, her father could speak to her mother, Shobha Kapoor, because she allowed it. Everyone else, it seems, had to get past the tiny boss of the household first.

Ekta Kapoor Once Chased A Girl With A Shoe

Things got even more dramatic when it came to Jeetendra’s on-screen romances. Ekta Kapoor revealed that she disliked watching her father perform romantic scenes with actresses. But her reaction to someone getting affectionate with him in real life was apparently on another level.

Recalling an incident from her childhood, she spoke about chasing a girl with a shoe after the latter kissed Jeetendra on the cheek. Imagine giving a superstar a peck and accidentally starring in a real-life chase scene with his furious daughter!

Jeetendra may have belonged to the silver screen, but in Ekta’s childhood universe, he was strictly family property. And apparently, the terms and conditions were non-negotiable.
