And recently, the newly launched passenger rail service, which is already operating between Abu Dhabi and Fujairah, announced its specially curated onboard menu. Yes, the menu has been inspired by Emirati flavours and culinary traditions, and we are here to tell you what you can expect onboard.

Etihad Rail Features Onboard Menu Inspired By Emirati Flavours

The onboard menu of Etihad Rail is inspired by Emirati flavours, as revealed by Gulf News. Developed by Capital Catering, this is the food and beverage arm of ADNEC Group. The menu has been created around the concept of a journey through the emirates. It combines modern rail travel along with locally inspired flavours. These dishes have been created using ingredients that are traditionally associated with the UAE, including saffron, dates, Arabic coffee, and cardamom.

The Menu Has Been Curated By Chef Maitha Warshaw

Coming to the menu, it has been crafted by the award-winning Chef Maitha Warshaw. One of the signature dishes includes a modern interpretation of Machboos. It features slow-braised short rib that is served with fragrant Emirati rice. This dish reflects the approach behind the menu, and it preserves the familiar Emirati flavours. However, it is presented in a contemporary format, giving it a modern twist.

A Specially-Curated Selection Across Both Comfort And Premium Class

Talking elaborately about the menu, the specially-curated selection is available across both comfort and premium classes. These include breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack options. All of this has been designed around different journey types and passenger needs. There’s even a dedicated children’s menu, which has been developed so that it is a welcoming atmosphere for everybody onboard.

For welcoming people, there is a selection of locally-inspired chocolates, which includes seven spices, date & caramel, and gahwa & cardamom varieties. There is even a traditional coffee service that is available, and it is complemented by speciality coffee, premium tea, and fresh juices.

So with the travel experience offering a touch of Emirati culture in the form of food, travellers can expect a splendid experience onboard the new rail service.
