Cheesy Chicken Sliders, The Perfect First Iftar Treat

After hours of fasting, your body doesn’t just need food, it needs something satisfying but not too heavy. These sliders give you protein from the chicken, flavour from the spices, creaminess from the sauces, and that irresistible cheesy goodness that makes everyone smile. And the best part is that they come together in under 30 minutes. The first Iftar sets the mood for the whole month. You want something that’s easy to make, great for sharing, and perfect for small get-togethers. These sliders tick every box.

Here’s How To Make Them At Home
Ingredients:
- 500 g boneless chicken (finely chopped)
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 medium onion (finely chopped)
- 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1–1½ tsp red chilli paste (adjust to taste)
- ½ tsp black pepper powder
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp mustard sauce
- 1 tbsp hot sauce
- ½ cup chopped capsicum
- Slider buns
- Grated mozzarella cheese
- Cheese slices
- Melted butter
Method:
- Heat oil and butter in a pan. Add the chopped onions and cook until soft and slightly golden.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and red chilli paste. Cook until the raw smell disappears.
- Sprinkle black pepper, cumin powder, coriander powder, and salt. Cook until you see slight oil separating from the sides.
- Lower the flame and mix in mayonnaise, mustard sauce, and hot sauce. Stir everything together until the chicken becomes creamy and rich.
- Add chopped capsicum at the end for a slight crunch. Mix once and switch off the heat.
- Slice the slider buns in half. Brush both sides lightly with melted butter.
- Spread the prepared sauce evenly on both sides of the buns.
- Add a layer of mozzarella cheese and spoon the chicken filling generously.
- Top with cheese slices and place the top bun over it.
- Preheat your oven to 180°C and bake the sliders for 15–20 minutes.
- Serve these sliders warm, straight from the tray.
