The Director General of Dubai Municipality has announced the DM Food Elite Program. Announced during the opening of the 17th Dubai International Food Safety Conference in 2023, this program honours restaurants in Dubai that consistently demonstrate leadership in food safety excellence. It aims to combine commitment with sustainability nutrition, and social responsibility and the registration for this program is now open. if you are a restaurant here in Dubai, you must read up about how to participate in this program and here’s all the information you might want to know about it.

DM Food Elite Program Participation Begins

Dubai Municipality has announced the launch of the DM Food Elite Program. Yes, and the participation has already begun. Yes, the submissions are open till July 15, however, before you begin the application, you must ensure that you are eligible for participation. In case you weren’t aware, food establishments which have received a rating in food inspections since 2022 can only participate in this program. If you are eligible, first of all, you need to create an account on the Dubai Municipality portal for the food establishment.

After this, you will get access to the DM Food Elite Website. Once you’ve checked your eligibility, you will be given access to the criteria table. Under each criterion, we need to explain how you are enduring to the best practices in your establishment. Once you’re done filling this up, submit the application with supported evidence.

How Will These Recognitions Be Awarded?

It should be noted that the DM Food Elite recognition will be given to the restaurants from every category. They are as follows:

  • Top three standalone casual and formal dining restaurant
  • Top three restaurants that are part of a hotel
  • Top three quick service outlets and cafeteria

Finally, it’s worth mentioning that the winners will be selected after an extensive evaluation process is undertaken by independent assessors. This will include but is not limited to the verification of credentials and certifications provided by food businesses and interviews. It’s worth mentioning that the final presentation and jury evaluation will happen in September and the winners are expected to be announced on October 21, 2024.
