Those who are staying far from their homes still now and are longing to go back to their homes might have a ray of hope all over again. Private airline companies like Indigo, GoAir and more have started selling tickets for the post-lockdown period. Also, most of us were anticipating that the flight fares might be much higher than the usual rates after lockdown. To ease the woes, the rates are nominal too. Read on to know the details.
What’s Exactly Happening?
India’s leading airline company, IndiGo, has started taking bookings from 1st June 2020. Same is the case with Vistara. SpiceJet and GoAir are selling tickets for departures from 16th May. The Delhi-Mumbai one-way IndiGo flights start at ₹3000 for 1st June. For Delhi-Kolkata Vistara flights on the same date, rates start at ₹3802. Bengaluru bound passengers taking flights on 16th May will have to pay a minimum of about ₹3499 if they book their flights through GoAir.

What Else?
While you can book the tickets now, you need to keep one thing in mind that the flights might be cancelled again if the lockdown is extended, or if they do not receive resumption orders from the government. The government had already instructed the flights not to take any advanced bookings. But they are still selling tickets, firstly for the flow of cash and secondly, to ensure that the stranded people can finally reach homes as soon as the services start.

When the bans are lifted, we would suggest that you travel only if it’s absolutely necessary. Also, don’t forget to take the required precautions. Face masks have already been mandated in Delhi airport post lockdown. Last but not the least, try to get an e-boarding pass rather than collecting one from the airport to ensure minimal physical contact.
