Recently Dubai Airport signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Dubai Autism Center. This has been done with the aim of supporting UAE Vision 2021 and Dubai Plan 2021. Moreover, the future plans also include building a quiet room for people with such conditions. Here’s all about the agreement-related development.

Dubai Airport is constantly trying to make the airport inclusive for people from all wakes of life. And keeping true to this idea, they have signed an agreement with the Dubai Autism Center. As a result, they are planning to make travelling a bit easier for people with autism. In line with their UAE Vision 2021 and Dubai Plan 2021 aiming to make Dubai, a leading disability-friendly city in the world, this agreement is certainly going to help out folks with autism, according to a report by Khaleej Times.

A Quiet Room To Be Added To The Airport
So, now the future plans include adding a quiet room at the airport for people with autism. This will help them in case they experience a sensory overload, thereby feeling more comfortable. Besides the future plans, the airport has also employed specially trained staff who can be identified with their sunflower pin. They are equipped to support people of determination and can be found at the following locations – Terminal 3 Departures, Arrivals, and Connections; Terminal 1 Departures and Arrivals; and
Terminal 2 Departures and Arrivals.
As it happens, they have been working together for over a year and even ended up in the Dubai International Airport, receiving an autism-friendly certificate back in the November of 2022. Not to mention, they were also awarded the certificate for a multitude of steps they had taken to make travelling an easier experience for those with such disabilities.
