On this Sunday Brunch episode, our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, got candid with the “Queen of Versace” in Dubai! Yes, we are talking about the graceful Zeina Khoury! She is an absolute boss woman, and you might know her from the popular Netflix series ‘Dubai Bling’. From being financially unstable to establishing herself in the ‘City of Gold’, it was a long journey. During conversations, we learnt her motive behind becoming financially independent and more.
Zeina Khoury Worked Hard To Become Financially Independent
We were at the luxurious Palazzo Versace Dubai, the wind was blowing softly and the backdrop was the lovely Jaddaf Waterfront. It was an excellent location to chat with Zeina! On the topic of family and finances, the “Queen of Versace” shared with us that she came from a middle-class family in Lebanon.
She highlighted how the political unrest in her home country affected her family. This, in turn, left them with no money and it became difficult to make ends meet. Zeina Khoury said, “Financial security was something I always aimed for and because of my upbringing, I promised myself to never need anyone financially.”
This was the driving force behind Zeina attaining her self-worth and earning the money to sustain herself well in Dubai. She made this stern decision early on in her life and began working incredibly hard. Now, she is reaping the rewards of her hard work and patience.
Why Did She Choose Dubai As Her Home?
Kamiya was curious to know why was Dubai her first choice as her next city. Zeina revealed to us that she left Lebanon due to its constant political unrest. She wanted to pursue a better life and career. She spoke about how Dubai was the nearest Arab-speaking city to Lebanon.
On top of that, her brother was already in Dubai. So someone close to her was in the city. This makes it easier for someone migrating or shifting to a new city as there is support and someone you can trust. All in all, this was the best choice; now she proudly gets to call this city her home.
