Dubai Covid Measures: From Brunches To Global Village Shows, Here’s Everything That’s Restricted

Covid-19 cases are on the rise in Dubai and to control the spread of the virus, Dubai authorities have announced several new measures lately. After announcing the closure of bars and clubs throughout February, the officials have announced new rules for Dubai brunches and Global Village. Here’s everything you must know about it.

Department Of Tourism Orders Measures Against Weekend Brunches 

Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing has issued a new statement to curb the covid situation. As per the statement, activities involving large groups such as weekend brunches stand postponed for a while now. Besides this, it states that the hotel venues cannot play music for now.

Citizens Urged To Report Any Violations They See Via Dubai Police Smart App 

The circular also asserts that restaurants, malls and hotels will have to reduce their capacity. The measures which are effective immediately will be in place until Sunday, February 28. Hotels must operate at 70 per cent capacity. No music, including pre-recorded background music, is permitted at restaurants, pools and beaches. Restaurants have to close at 1 AM, with the last order to be placed at midnight.

Restaurants, hotels, other establishments and residents who fail to follow the measures will face strict charges. Authorities are also encouraging people to report any violations that they see through the Dubai Police call centre on 901 or the ‘Police Eye’ service through the Dubai Police Smart App.

Dubai’s Global Village Cancels Shows And Suspends Fireworks Until Further Notice

Dubai’s Global Village has furthermore announced the suspension of shows, and other entertainment shows till further notice. For fireworks, they too stand cancelled for two weekends. Speaking about the new measures, Global Village tweeted,

“The Mission Speed stunt show will continue to operate with socially-distanced seating. The rest of the park is still operating with world-class safety measures in place. We invite you to enjoy our open-air shopping, dining, rides and attractions from 4 pm daily.”
