A lot of rules and regulations are in place when it comes to celebrating the holy month of Ramadan in the UAE this year. Right from banning Iftar tents to prohibiting social gathering, authorities are updating the rules almost daily. And now, amid the changing regulations, there’s one more update, but this time it is for Dubai restaurants. The Department of Economic Development (Dubai Economy) has issued a statement regarding restaurant activity during Ramadan. Read on to know more about it.

Dubai Restaurants Can Now Serve Customers Without Putting Curtains During Ramadan

In regards to the restaurants in Dubai, things are about to change this year. How do you ask? Well, Dubai restaurants will no longer need to use dividers or curtains to section off visible dining areas during fasting hours. Yes, you read that right. Restaurants will now be allowed to serve customers without putting in place curtains, dividers or facades, which has been the mandatory practice previously.

Restaurants No Longer Need Permit To Serve Food During Fasting Hours

The practise which was initially in place was to block off dining areas from those who were fasting. However, as per the guidelines, that’s not a mandate anymore.

Well, not only this, in terms of serving food, restaurants in the emirate will no longer need a permit to serve food during fasting hours. And this new circular will be practised starting the first day of the Holy month.
