Dubai Safari Park Has Officially Closed Its Gates For The Summer; Here’s All About It!

Dubai Safari Park has officially shut its gates for summer. It made a massive mark with its sixth season. The numbers don’t lie, and this has been the park’s best run yet, smashing records left, right, and centre. With an eight-month streak of packed weekends, roaring crowds, and eager wildlife fans, the park clocked in a 16% rise in visitors compared to last year.

What made this season such a hit? The park pulled out all the stops with fresh attractions that had everyone talking. The launch of the region’s first Night Safari was a game-changer, drawing 17,000 visitors in one month. Echoes of the Wild, a live animal show, had over 80,000 attendees hooked on the edge of their seats. Add fan-favourites like Wild Fiesta, Wild in the Night, and Iftar in the Wild, and you have a calendar packed with reasons to visit. Over 52,700 safari tours kept guests coming back, while the Eid Al Etihad holidays alone saw more than 43,000 people stream through in just four days.

The Baby Rhino Naming Campaign stole hearts across the UAE. Over 13,000 people voted to name the park’s newest rhino calf, say hello to Onyx. The campaign showed just how deeply the community connects with the park’s conservation work.

Educating While Entertaining

Dubai Safari Park inspired future conservationists, too. Nearly 45,000 students visited as part of school trips, diving into activities that brought home the importance of protecting our planet. Competitions got creative juices flowing, with 560 students from 22 schools pitching ideas to save the environment.

The park has made significant development in wildlife care. This season saw 162 births and hatchings, including babies from species teetering on the edge of extinction, with white rhinos, moon bears, and Addax among them. The park followed top-notch ethical and scientific standards, keeping in line with EAZA guidelines.

Four research papers tackled key topics like rabies vaccines for African wild dogs and stress reduction in big cats.
