Clean streets. Well-kept parks. Beaches that really resembled postcards. That was a daily experience of the people living in Dubai, which has once again given the city worldwide attention. According to the Global Power City Index report released by the Mori Memorial Foundation, Dubai has been ranked the sixth-cleanest city in the world.
Dubai Secures Its Sixth Consecutive Global Ranking As The Cleanest City In The World.
Dubai has been ranked the best among major cities globally in urban cleanliness, underscoring the emirate’s commitment to quality of life, sustainability, and city management.
Cleanliness Score Of 100
According to the report by Gulf News, the city of Dubai had a 100 percent satisfaction rating on the city cleanliness indicator in the Environment pillar of the Global Power City Index.
>The index ranks cities in six big dimensions, such as quality of life, environment, economy, research and development, cultural interaction, and accessibility. Over 70 global indicators are used to gauge the competitiveness and liveliness of every city.
>The sustainability in these spheres has further made Dubai even more appealing as a destination place to live, work and visit globally.
Dubai Municipality Leads The Charge
The success is a measure of planning and operations over the years spearheaded by the Dubai Municipality.
>City teams carry out massive clean-up operations daily to maintain roads, community facilities, parks, beaches and residential communities throughout the emirate. Their work is also helpful to the Steering Committee on Preserving the Urban Appearance of Dubai, which measures performance using the Public Cleanliness Index.
A 24-Hour System Of Massive Work
Cleaning up a city as large as Dubai needs significant infrastructure.
Dubai Municipality has 785 waste management specialised vehicles and machines. More than 23,300 waste storage and collection units are also used in residential areas and in public places in the city.
>This system consists of 2,876 sanitation engineers with 280 inspection and supervisory people.
>They share a large urban network consisting of 2,400 kilometres of main roads, 1,419 kilometres of investment zones, and 33 kilometres of canals, beaches, markets and desert areas.
