Drone delivery in Dubai is now active, tested, and moving real orders across Dubai neighbourhoods. Based on details shared in a press release, Keeta Drone began operations in December 2024. It started operations with a strong government backing and a high-profile launch attended by HH Sheikh Hamdan, the Crown Prince of Dubai. The first ceremonial order was placed from RIT-Dubai, and since then, drone deliveries have become a working part of daily delivery across select zones.

From Launch Day To Daily Deliveries

Keeta Drone initially started service in Dubai Silicon Oasis and Nad Al Sheba. Both areas offer a mix of residential and commercial demand, which makes them ideal testing grounds for repeat drone ordering routes.

Over the past year, the company has completed large volumes of orders using unmanned aerial vehicles instead of road drivers. This has witnessed a major cut in delivery time, reduced traffic load and lower emissions. Residents show growing comfort with app-based drone delivery, leading to a surge in demand, especially for food and small consumer items. Fast service is the attraction point for people.

Keeta Drone Is Now Licensed For Advanced Drone Operations

Keeta Drone secured Dubai’s first ‘Beyond Visual Line of Sight’, or ‘BVLOS’, commercial delivery licence in late 2024. It allows drones to operate beyond the pilot’s direct sight range under regulated controls. It is a big technical and legal step. With that approval, route networks expanded across more corridors in the city. The drones are built for tough local weather, too. They handle high winds, sand exposure, and extreme summer heat above 50°C.

Dubai Civil Aviation Authority leadership has also set clear targets. Drone delivery coverage should reach 30 per cent of the city by 2026 and 70 per cent within five years.

Orders Now Run Through A Dedicated App

Keeta Drone also launched its own standalone ordering app this year. Customers can place drone delivery orders directly instead of routing through third-party platforms. Several known food brands already appear on the platform. Brands like Halla Shawarma and Baskin-Robbins are onboard, with more partners expected to join in 2026.

To mark its first anniversary, the company ran city pop-ups, interactive booths, and public giveaways in Dubai. That street-level presence helps people trust the service.

After one year of stable performance, Keeta Drone has moved from concept to working infrastructure. It now stands as a real part of Dubai’s smart mobility push, which is fast, electric, and airborne.
